Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description:
  • Project manager of at least two successful large-scale software systems implementations.
  • 5 years of IT and business/industry work.
  • 5 years of leadership responsibility managing midsize to large teams and influencing senior-level management.
  • Direct work experience with public K-12 school, higher education, or educational entity data and systems.
  • Project Management experience in a large K-12 public school district, higher education, or educational entity preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Projects may include enterprise system implementations, network infrastructure upgrades, identity and access management, cybersecurity enhancements, and other major technology-related implementations. The Project Manager will be expected to:

  1. Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  2. Provide stakeholder communication plans and regular status updates.
  3. Facilitate meetings, track issues and risks, and ensure timely resolution.
  4. Coordinate between District departments, vendors, and external agencies as needed.
  5. Deliver final project evaluations and lessons learned reports.

Position Requirements

  1. Qualification in project management or equivalent.
  2. Possess strong theoretical and practical knowledge of and experience with project management, best practices and with a demonstrated successful track record.
  3. Direct work experience as a project manager over large software systems implementation.
  4. Direct work experience as a project manager over one or more large enterprise-wide software solutions, such as Oracle PeopleSoft and SAP.
  5. Proficient with project management techniques, tools and software.
  6. Ability to understand project details but manage from the overall project perspective.
  7. Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management.
  8. Proven experience in change management.
  9. Excellent management and team-building skills.
  10. Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate between business requirements and technical design and implementation.
  11. Knowledge of business application lifecycle management.
  12. Knowledge of system development life cycle management.
  13. Budget planning and management.
  14. Problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills to influence management, as well as internal and external partners.
  15. Ability to apply sound judgment, strong leadership and negotiating skills.
