Job description

Job Summary:
The Implementations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of IT implementations for new and existing centers. This role serves as the primary IT contact for the Construction Project Management team and collaborates with leadership to oversee network and infrastructure setup. The Implementations Engineer will manage the end-to-end IT implementation timeline, coordinate resources, mitigate risks, and transition centers to ongoing support post-implementation.
Location: Central or Eastern U.S. preferred with access to a major airport within one hour
Travel: Approximately 50-60% travel required
Key Responsibilities:
  • IT Implementation Leadership: Drive the overall success of IT implementations, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Timeline & Resource Management: Oversee the IT implementation schedule, including resource allocation, travel planning, and on-site requirements.
    • Program Status & Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Primary Contact for Construction Project Management Team: Act as the main IT liaison, ensuring IT needs to align with construction progress and timelines.
  • Technical Requirements Definition: Document and define site-specific technical requirements in alignment with USRS Infrastructure Standards.
  • Low-Voltage & IT Coordination: Work with vendors to ensure proper switch and server setup, low-voltage cabling, wireless access points (WAPs), and printer installations.
  • Network and Infrastructure Oversight:
    • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of network and infrastructure components to ensure seamless implementation;
    • Collaborate with leadership to order center circuits and manage execution and follow-ups with ISP vendors.
    • Manage modality network connectivity and VPN setup requests, ensuring alignment with network engineers.
  • Risk & Escalation Management: Identify, track, and mitigate risks while escalating issues as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Equipment Documentation & Validation: Identify, document, communicate, and validate all required IT equipment orders, ensuring USRS places orders accurately.
  • Infrastructure Readiness Approvals: Conduct virtual and on-site walkthroughs to assess IT infrastructure readiness, providing final approvals before go-live.
  • On-Site Support: Flexible with travel and provide hands-on technical support during critical phases of implementation, including go-live and initial troubleshooting.
  • Post-Implementation Transition: Ensure a smooth transition of IT operations to steady state support team upon project completion.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of IT implementation experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of network and infrastructure components, including WAN, LAN, VPNs, low-voltage cabling, telcom, switch set up
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple IT implementation projects, resources, and timelines effectively.
  • Risk Management: Experience identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring timely resolution of escalations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Healthcare & Radiology Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of radiology workflows, modality requirements, and healthcare IT implementations is a plus.
  • Travel: 50+%
