Job description

Salary: $60-80K

Position Overview

The Project Manager at Eminent Technical Solutions (ETS) is responsible for the coordination, execution, and follow-through of technical projects across a diverse portfolio that includes IT infrastructure deployments, network implementations, structured cabling, and construction-adjacent work. This role exists to ensure that projects move from scoping to completion with clarity, accountability, and minimal friction for both clients and internal teams.

This is a coordination and leadership role, not a purely technical one. The Project Manager works closely with engineers, technicians, estimators, and clients to keep projects on track, surfaces issues before they become delays, and makes sure that everyone involved knows what is happening and what comes next. You do not need to be the most technically skilled person in the room, but you do need enough technical fluency to run a project meeting, read a scope of work, and know when to escalate to someone with deeper expertise.

ETS projects range in size and complexity. On any given week, this person may be managing a straightforward hardware deployment alongside a multi-phase project with multiple ETS companies and site dependencies. The ability to context-switch, stay organized across concurrent workstreams, and maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams is essential.

The Project Manager works in close partnership with the Estimator/Purchaser, picking up projects after scoping and procurement are underway and owning the execution phase through to client sign-off. This handoff relationship is central to how ETS delivers work, and the right candidate will invest in making it seamless.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the execution phase of assigned projects from kickoff through completion and client sign-off, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Maintain clear project plans, timelines, and status updates for each active project, keeping all stakeholders informed without requiring them to ask.
  • Coordinate internal resources including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring the right people are scheduled and prepared for each phase of work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, managing expectations, communicating progress, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and potential delays early and bring solutions, not just problems, to the team.
  • Partner closely with the Estimator/Purchaser to ensure smooth handoffs between scoping and execution, and flag scope changes that affect cost or timeline.
  • Track project budgets and flag variances to the appropriate team members in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate site logistics for field work including scheduling, access, equipment delivery, and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete and accurate, including as-built records, change orders, and client-facing project summaries.
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying workflow gaps and recommending repeatable systems that make future projects run more smoothly.

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a criminal background and MVR (driving record) screening
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed

Desired Skills

  • Project coordination and timeline management across concurrent workstreams
  • Client communication and expectation management during active project execution
  • Subcontractor and vendor coordination
  • Scope management and change order documentation
  • Risk identification and proactive problem resolution
  • Cross-functional collaboration with technical and non-technical teams
  • Process documentation and workflow improvement
  • Budget tracking and variance reporting
  • Technical literacy sufficient to participate in project planning conversations with engineers and technicians

Experience & Certifications

ETS values candidates with diverse backgrounds and hands-on experience. Applicants with some or all of the following experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Preferred Experience: 3 to 6 years of project management or project coordination experience; background in IT, telecommunications, structured cabling, construction, or a related technical field strongly preferred
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Project Management Methodology: Familiarity with project management frameworks and tools; experience with software such as Monday.com, Asana, MS Project, or similar platforms
  • Technical Literacy: Enough familiarity with IT infrastructure, networking, or cabling environments to participate meaningfully in project scoping and execution conversations without requiring technical concepts to be explained from scratch
  • Client Management: Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships during active project delivery, including communicating delays, scope changes, and status updates professionally and proactively
  • Field Coordination: Experience coordinating field crews, subcontractors, or installation teams across multiple concurrent sites is a strong asset
  • Certifications: PMP or CAPM certification valued; CompTIA Project+ a plus; industry-specific certifications in IT or telecommunications a bonus
  • Compensation: $60,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience
