Job description

Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Utility Billing/Customer Information System (CIS) Implementation Project Manager to join our Local Government Practice Group within our Consulting Team. You will serve as our clients' Project Manager working with and guiding client and vendor teams as they implement utility billing/customer information systems across multiple departments. This position is planned to remotely serve our clients across the country. You will report to senior leaders in the Local Government Practice Group.

You will bring a mix of demonstrated project management capabilities, exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong leadership capabilities, effective written and verbal communication skills. Your experience in one or more of the following areas: local government utility business processes and/or operations, enterprise software systems, implementation project management, or business process analysis will make you a trusted advisor to our local government clients. Experience with organizational change management is a plus.

Travel Expectations: Up to 50% travel to client sites is anticipated.

You Will
  • Jointly lead a delivery team consisting of internal business SMEs, IT personnel, client stakeholders and an external integrator's technical professionals
  • Lead and support the delivery of services to clients on time, within scope, and within budget, including assigning and managing staff to create client deliverables
  • Navigate and document decision making processes on behalf of our clients within the project's established governance structure
  • Coordinate task assignments to internal and client teams based on alignment to project plan
  • Communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders, including the facilitation of client meetings
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, these may include: writing blog posts, attending industry conferences and participating in industry groups, leading/participating in prospective client business development meetings, identifying and scoping additional work with existing clients, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and developing responses to RFPs in collaboration with our proposal writing team
You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Political Science, Computer Science, Public Administration or a related field.
  • 5 or more years' experience working with federal, state, or local government in one or more of the following areas: utility billing/CIS systems, implementation project management, or business administration and process analysis.
  • Experience with agile and hybrid software implementation methodologies.
  • Experience implementing utility billing/CIS systems such as: Cayenta, Hansen, NorthStar, Oracle, SpryPoint, Systems & Software, Tyler Technologies, Universus, VertexOne is desired.
  • Experience with third party interfaces such as: Asset Management, GIS, AMI, MDMS, OMS, Payment Processing Portals, Customer Engagement Portals, and Work Order systems is desired
  • Knowledge of quality assurance/control procedures and demonstrated proactive problem management skills.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree preferred along with a current project management certification (PMP or CAPM) or organizational change management certification.
  • Consulting experience in a national or regional consulting firm on assignments with public sector clients, relevant independent consulting experience, or prior employment with a software vendor or system integrator in requirements gathering and software testing.
Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
