Your Opportunity
Your role will be to provide fully qualified coordination of construction activities and contract administration in a fast-paced professional, design and delivery environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to resolve outstanding claims on the project.
  • Prepare and present various reports, minutes, and records regarding contract documents and contractor change request issues.
  • Review documentation and perform analysis, including review of schedule, cost estimates, contract documents, specifications, and special studies.
  • Assist in presentation of contractor claim submittals, supporting documentation, contract documents and specifications.
  • Distribute documents and maintain controlled distribution lists.
  • Coordinates daily onsite construction activities liaising with contractors, design professionals, clients, and relevant external parties.
  • Provides input to the development of project schedules, coordinates the work according to approved schedules, reports schedule deviations and provides recommendations on any schedule modifications.
  • Reports deviations from contract documents and codes. Follows through with responsible party until resolution.
  • Maintains records of activities including work completed and inspected.
  • Meets, reviews and reports to the project team on construction status, issues, and concerns.
  • Monitors the progress of construction activities ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.
  • Communicates with and makes recommendations to Project Manager, design professionals, client, owner, developer, or contractor, but does not direct the means or methods of construction.
  • Reviews plans, specifications, requests for information, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings and pay applications (QA/QC).
  • Prepares final documentation for closeout process.
  • Prepares documents and maintains file management of project-related information including, but not limited to, correspondence, reports, videos, and pictures.
  • Participates in the implementation of safety controls and promotes a safe workplace.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Thorough knowledge of construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions.
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with contractor, project team and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.
  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information.
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ability to use advances computer techniques to develop graphic presentation and schedules.
  • Working knowledge of critical path method scheduling.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' of construction claims experience. Successful track record in preparing responses to Contractor Claims.
  • Experience with Transit construction projects of at least $100 million.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$117,800.00 - $176,800.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
