Your Opportunity:
Stantec is currently looking for a skilled Project Manager who possesses a deep understanding and knowledge of various technology systems for the built environment. This position would report to one of our offices in the US West (LA, Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, Portland)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Involvement - approximately 85% of time
  • Telecommunication services.
  • Voice, Data and Video transport systems.
  • Electronic Security systems.
  • Nurse Call/Clinical Communication systems.
  • Systems Integration concepts
  • Data/Wireless Network topologies.
  • Provides design leadership translating client and owner requirements into the production of drawings, specifications, cost opinions, technical reports and assessments.
  • Project Management experience and understanding of the different design delivery processes found in the Architectural/ Engineering/ Construction industry.
  • Represents Stantec on a local and regional level as a recognized technical expert in the industry.
  • Maintains awareness of operational, technical or regulatory changes and improvements within government, commercial and healthcare environments and the information transport industry relating to communication systems.
  • Develops and delivers client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables.
  • Periodically acts as QC reviewer on projects.
  • Prepares written recommendations and reports to clients.
  • Interacts with other disciplines within Stantec, client agencies, vendors, and other consulting/engineering firms.
  • Represents Stantec clients in communications with government agencies, commercial organizations, and healthcare organizations.
  • Maintains a holistic view of complex technical solutions being designed and implemented by teams of engineers.
  • Provides site inspection and implementation management for technology systems.
  • Applies industry, technology, and project management expertise to meet client requirements/deliverables within established timeframes and budgets.
  • Collaborates with A/E/C project teams as requested to differentiate Stantec and add technical value from the client perspective.
  • Develops and maintains reference materials related to their area of expertise.
  • Prepares white papers and articles for industry publication on technical issues.
  • Develops standards documentation and boilerplate documents and develops and performs quality control documentation.
  • Nurtures existing client relationships.
  • Proactively represents firm and pursues opportunities for new business - Periodically attends client and industry events to represent Stantec and promote our brand and services.
  • Develops and delivers client presentations.
  • Active member of the Technology Consulting Group in the U.S. West and is a part of multi-disciplined design teams for various sized projects in several markets, including Healthcare, Higher Education, Commercial and Government/Military.
  • Demonstrates a "client first" approach in developing relationships.
  • Strategically evaluates opportunities and challenges and incorporates well-developed consulting and technical skills into each client interaction.

Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical Skills - approximately 10% of time.
  • Develops knowledge of technologies, trends and the markets in which we work as they apply to the applicable project types, and continually strengthens skills.
  • Proactively pursues additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending available in house and external training.

Meetings, initiatives, and projects - approximately 10% of time.
  • Attends in-house project meetings and potentially out of office client meetings.
  • Actively participates in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support Business Center and company goals.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of drawing standards and specifications.
  • Participate in Industry/client events

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Excellent client communication and relationship skills.
  • Work experience which demonstrates equivalent experience in technology analysis and design that includes writing, communications skills, and public speaking may be substituted on a year for year basis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, design, and optimization of complex networks in a variety of healthcare, enterprise, and government environments.
  • Experience in site development, equipment manufacturing or construction industry and/or familiarity with construction processes.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of, voice/data systems, IT/telecommunications, wireless systems, electronic security systems and audio-visual systems.
  • Fluent in best practice design techniques and planning methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and Technology standards (NEC, BICSI, ANSI/TIA, FGI, etc.).
  • Skill in researching and writing technical papers and reports and effectively communicating the information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communications skills and client or customer service experience/skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral form and able to comprehend complex oral and written direction.
  • Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
  • Ability to explain complex problems and issues in understandable terms to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding and experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Meets or exceeds project goals and expectations and project performance metrics.
  • Travel is required to meet engagement/client requirements. Travel scope may include regional, national, or international based on the contracted requirements. Independent travel is required, with travel comprising up to 10% of the work month.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors' degree in related field - Telecommunications, Information Technology or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable, although comparable proven work experience is acceptable.
  • Eight (8) years' experience in the analysis, design, installation, maintenance and/or repair of systems, systems or directly related systems is required.
  • RCDD certification is highly desirable.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience is also desirable.
  • CCNA, PE, CTS, PMP, PSP etc., are preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare technology, biomedical engineering/clinical engineering is highly desirable.

Office Location and Schedule:
  • This position will exist at Stantec BC 2804 location in Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Diego, CA.
  • This position will have a flexible work schedule requiring (3) days in the office, (including Wednesday with the other 2 days determined by candidate) and (2) days working from home.

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$111,200.00 - $166,900.00 Annually
• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas-$119,300.00 - $179,000.00 Annually
• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP)-$127,400.00 - $191,100.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
