The Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors; Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) technology for a suite of products across multiple programs. This position supports a variety of activities including but not limited to architecture development, requirements management, and development oversight for signal processing systems and software defined RF systems (radar, communications, and/or EW). This is an onsite position located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
What You Will Do
  • Analyze, develop, and implement engineering solutions for complex systems operating under moderate technical uncertainty
  • Assess the customer's architectural needs and desired capabilities and participate in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation of technical architecture elements
  • Create innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design
  • Design, modify, and/or test existing electronic warfare signal-processing and control algorithms, along with the associated system software
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, software, and/or firmware/control algorithms
  • Support bid and proposal efforts by providing accurate labor estimations and material cost estimations
  • Maintain organized workflows, documentation, and processes to support team operations
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, design reviews, and test result briefings to internal teams and external stakeholders

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant systems engineering experience
  • RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and modulation analysis, and algorithm development, implementation, and testing.
  • Knowledge defining system architectures, including requirements derivation, allocation, traceability, and configuration management.
  • Experience with developing system models, simulations, and analytical tools to evaluate, predict, and optimize system performance.
  • Ability to support occasional business travel (20% or less).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Familiarity with development, implementation, and test of RF jamming algorithms
  • MATLAB, Python, C++, PathWave ADS, AMD Vivado, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems
  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in electronic warfare systems
  • Embedded systems and embedded programming
  • Experience implementing digital signal processing solutions on embedded processors and digital hardware
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools (e.g. Cameo or similar)
  • Knowledge of DOORS for requirements management

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
