About the Role
The IBM Technology Expert Labs organization is seeking an experienced IBM Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS®) IT Management Consultant with strong expertise in IBM Z, Storage, and Storage Replication technologies. In this role, you will lead pre-sales and post-sales client engagements, enabling the adoption of IBM GDPS® solutions.

We are open to candidates who are not yet GDPS experts but who bring deep IBM Storage, Storage Replication, and IBM Z experience with the potential to grow into GDPS mastery through training. Knowledge of NetView and System Automation is also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

·         Deliver IBM GDPS® solution design, architecture, and implementation services.

·         Configure, customize, and test GDPS® functional capabilities.

·         Work with z/OS, LPARs, and sysplex environments, including setup, configuration, and cloning.

·         Develop and tailor NetView automation, REXX, and JCL to support GDPS® environments.

·         Guide and train customer teams on GDPS® deployments, testing, and best practices.

·         Provide technical workshops and documentation, including planning and implementation reports.

·         Collaborate with customers, IBM Sales, and Business Partners to scope and deliver IBM GDPS® solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

·         Strong background in IBM Z hardware/software, particularly z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, Networking, and Automation.

·         Expertise in Storage and Replication technologies (IBM DS8000, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, z/OS Global Mirror, FlashCopy).

·         Hands-on experience with DFSMS and storage management.

·         Familiarity with z/OS High Availability technologies (GRS, Coupling Facilities, Sysplex Failure Management).

·         Tivoli System Automation and NetView knowledge.

·         3+ years of customer-facing consulting experience, including requirements analysis, documentation, and presentations.

·         Strong project management, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

·         Ability to lead customer workshops (up to 20+ participants).

·         Fluent in English.

Nice to Have

·         Experience with z/VM system programming and Linux on Z Systems.

·         InfoSphere Replication Server knowledge (for DB2, IMS, VSAM on z/OS – GDPS®/Active-Active).

Additional Information

·         Self-organized, eager to learn, with strong analytical skills.

·         Readiness to travel up to 20% annually.
