About the Team
In this role, you will join IBM's US Federal team to deliver secure, mission-critical technology solutions for government agencies. You'll work with federal, state, and local clients while developing specialized expertise in government compliance and security standards. This role offers unique career growth in a high-demand sector where your contributions directly impact public services and government missions.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Federal Associate Quality Engineer 2027 at IBM, your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best. Come work in an agile environment where you will help each iteration reach the next level. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike.
In your role you may be responsible for:
  • Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Protractor, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.
  • Create test data and test environments
  • Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution
  • Identify, understand, and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given program, application or set of applications
  • Do a deep-dive and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

These positions are anticipated to start between March and August of 2027.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance while in IBM Consulting-Federal.

  • Introductory development background
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts

  • Exposure to basic AI concepts, ethics, and methodologies

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Knowledgeable on design, creation and execution of functional and/or non-functional test cases; experience with tool (or similar tools) such as: Confluence, JIRA, Selenium, Test Data Management Tools, Performance Testing Tools
  • Exposure to at least one cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, IBM, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with data quality analysis, and testing skills in API, ETL and SQL
  • Exposure to basic data science concepts
