IT Projects Engineer
Full-Time
Location: Northampton, MA
Salary Range: $56k-$60k
About the Role:
The IT Projects Engineer is the go-to individual when ServiceNet opens a new program location or refreshes the technology at an existing site. This is a hands-on, field-forward role focused on deploying and commissioning the physical and network infrastructure that our programs run on. This individual will work on Unifi networking deployments, access control installations, camera systems, endpoint staging and deployment, and full-site technology buildouts. This role works under the direction of the Senior IT Project Engineer and collaborates closely with Systems Administration, Helpdesk, and IS teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technology buildouts for new ServiceNet program locations — networking, access control, cameras, endpoints, and peripherals
  • Execute technology refreshes at existing sites, bringing infrastructure in line with current organizational standards
  • Deploy, configure, and validate Unifi networking equipment — switches, wireless access points, and firewalls
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of access control systems including readers, controllers, and door hardware; validate full functionality before handoff
  • Oversee the installation and configure camera systems; confirm coverage, connectivity, and recording are operational before project close
  • Stage, image, and deploy endpoint hardware as part of site buildouts and refreshes
  • Produce complete site documentation — diagrams, port assignments, device locations, access records, and config notes
  • Flag risks, blockers, and scope gaps early — before they affect go-live
  • Prepare receiving teams for handoff so support staff know exactly what was built and how to support it
  • Independently lead smaller, well-scoped site projects from kickoff to close when assigned
Qualifications:
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, systems work, or technical project execution.
  • Hands-on experience with Unifi networking — deploying and configuring switches, access points, and firewalls in production environments
  • Experience configuring access control systems — readers, controllers, door hardware, and basic software configuration
  • Experience configuring camera systems — NVR/DVR configuration and validating coverage and recording
  • Comfortable in field and site environments: wiring closets, above ceilings, multi-site locations
  • Strong documentation habits.
  • Proactive communication.
  • Familiarity with Windows environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — this role requires travel between ServiceNet sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit environments.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, project tracking tools, or IT documentation platforms (Jira, ITGlue, Monday).
  • Experience with RMM platforms such as Ninja RMM.
  • Comfort coordinating with vendors and contractors in the field.
Benefits:
  • Generous PTO (time-off) package.
  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance plans.
  • Life insurance and long-term disability insurance.
  • 403(b) retirement plan.
  • Tuition remission for eligible classes.
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility and tuition assistance.
  • Opportunities for career development and advancement.
  • And much more
