Job description

The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for leading cross functional teams in support of Click Bond's mission and vision to grow and expand the possible. This role supports the design, installation, operation, maintenance, modification, construction, and modernization of physical facilities, equipment, and software used to manufacture high quality products. This position plays a key role in facilities-related capital and continuous improvement projects, including the development and maintenance of Building Information Models (BIM) for the Carson City and Watertown campuses, preparation of Basis of Design documents for future projects, and upkeep of the Facilities Specification Book. The Facilities Project Engineer also supports environmental, health, safety and process improvement initiatives and oversees contractors responsible for maintaining and improving company facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, maintain, and constantly update detailed 3D facility models (BIM) including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems using approved engineering software such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
  • Integrate BIM data with CMMS, BMS or SCADA systems to support the creation and maintenance of a true facilities digital twin.
  • Perform clash detection to identify and resolve spatial conflicts between new equipment, facility modifications and existing infrastructure prior to installation or construction.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and Click Bond teams or stakeholders to coordinate facility renovations or upgrades.
  • Ensure all BIM models, drawings, and supporting documentation comply with company standards, applicable industry protocols, and local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Conduct site walks and field verifications to confirm existing conditions and update BIM models to accurately reflect as built conditions.
  • Prepare project documentation including project plans, scopes of work, budgets, resource allocations, vendor coordination, and Authorized Future Expenditure (AFE) requests for capital projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of contractors and consultants to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the Facilities Specification Book and Basis of Design documentation.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and Click Bond policies and immediately report hazardous or suspicious conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work when certain projects mandate hours outside of normally scheduled shift.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Strong project management skills including planning, scheduling, resource optimization, cost estimating and tracking.
  • Proven ability to create, manage and coordinate multidisciplinary 3D BIM.
  • Extensive experience in performing clash detection and resolving conflicts prior to construction or equipment installation.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and similar engineering design platforms.
  • Proficient with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or equivalent software.
  • Working knowledge of 6D BIM lifecycle management and analysis.
  • Understanding of Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) requirements for capturing non-geometric facility data.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and BIM standards.
  • Knowledge of related OSHA, NFPA, EPA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS9100 regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or 5 years of equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in 3D modelling and BIM within construction or facility management environments.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of project management experience in a manufacturing or construction setting.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit for Structural or MEP (preferred)
  • AGC Certificate of Management - BIM (preferred)
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
