Who We Want

Spevco is seeking a well-rounded Systems Specialist with experience in Hydraulics and Pneumatics for a full-time role at Spevco. The ideal candidate will come to us with a strong background and expertise in hands-on assembling, installing, and testing hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems for our specialty vehicles. Having some electrical experience would be an added bonus. This is a "hands-on" position.



What You'll Really Be Doing

Our Systems Specialists are providing the movement that transforms our custom trailers into spectacular exhibits for our clients' product marketing, disaster relief, and mobile medical needs. Spevco employs a variety of hydraulic and pneumatic systems on our vehicles and exhibits. All of these systems are critical to Spevco's and our customers' success and safety. You'll be:

  • Roughing-in hydraulic lines, airlines,and fittings
  • Assembling and installing hydraulic and pneumatic components, such as manifolds, valves, lines, air-brake, and air-ride systems
  • Testing these components in our vehicles and exhibits for reliability and safety
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • Performing final quality and safety checks to ensure all systems are properly installed and safe prior to commissioning a vehicle
  • Using your best judgment and asking questions when something might not make sense
  • Always following safety guidelines
  • Having fun in the process



What You Get Paid

This position is competitively paid on an hourly basis, and our offer will be determined by your level of experience and expertise.

Nitty Gritty Requirements

  • Integrity, leadership, and a positive attitude
  • 1 year of hydraulic and/or pneumatic experience
  • Ability to provide your own basic hand and power tools
  • Basic mechanical skills, "wrench turning"
  • Ability to read (or to learn to read) engineered drawings and systems schematics
  • Team player who can perform without supervision
  • Willingness to maintain a clean workspace and assist in shop housekeeping as required
  • Strong attention to safety and willingness to be part of and promote our safety culture
  • Strong attention to quality
  • Electrical/electronic experience is a bonus, but not required



Physical & Mental Requirements

Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties in a manufacturing shop environment, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move 10-75 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
