Our Fort Wayne site specializes in precision CNC machining for medical devices, supporting the production of complex metal components with high accuracy and consistency.

About the role:

The HR Manager will be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team responsible for supporting the ongoing transformation to best in class medical device contract manufacturing.

The HR role at the Ft. Wayne site is part of a broader, highly collaborative HR network supporting 17 U.S. locations, offering strong partnership and support across the organization. The Ft. Wayne site is a medical device manufacturing facility with approximately 150 associates, providing meaningful opportunities to directly impact site culture, leadership, and operations. 

Work Model: Onsite

What you'll do:

  • Provide business partner support to site leadership through a knowledge of the business, our associates and HR expertise in HR-related disciplines such as compensation, talent acquisition and management, well being and benefits as well as communications.
  • Ensures roles are filled in a timely, cost effective manner with high quality candidates, consistent with company policies and practices and legal considerations. 
  • Work with hiring supervisors and managers to assess staffing requirements; develop cost effective recruiting and screening strategies; and make appropriate hiring recommendations. 
  • Proactively address associate engagement and facilitate activities to improve such in coordination with site leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor law and company/site policies.  This compliance should inform an effective approach to associate relations.
  • Help identify and develop innovative incentive/reward systems that address business needs.  
  • Proactively identify retention risks and recommend mitigating strategies in a cost-efficient manner.  
  • Develop salary structures and/or conduct special compensation studies based on local market values.  
  • Support associate development through the career ladder program.
  • Facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.  
  • Identify and partner with internal resources to assist in addressing issues.  
  • Counsel managers or employees consistent with Viant policies/practices, legal considerations, etc.
  • Consult with managers and associates on training and development needs.  
  • Identify group and individual development needs in order to inform holistic development initiatives.  
  • Deliver training and facilitate group processes.  
  • Facilitate organizational assessments and development of strategies and tactics to address current issues and future staffing needs.  
  • Conduct research and make recommendations for best practices.  Play key role in presentation of proposals and implementation of plans.  
  • Lead site TLR sessions and partner with DOOs on succession planning activities.
  • Serve as functional and/or business representative on Site Leadership Team, Corporate HR team or sub teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working with various roles and areas of Human Resources
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g. medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive).
  • Management experience of HR staff
  • Experience in payroll, staffing/recruitment, benefits administration, performance management systems, employee relations, training and individual and organizational development
