What is a human resources assistant contract?

Human Resources Assistant Contract positions are temporary roles within the HR department of an organization. People in these roles support various HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, maintaining employee records, and assisting with payroll or benefits administration. Contract HR Assistants are typically hired for a specific period, such as to cover for staff on leave or to help during busy times, and may work full-time or part-time. These roles require strong organizational and communication skills, as well as familiarity with HR processes and software.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a human resources assistant contract?

To thrive as a Human Resources Assistant (Contract), you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of HR principles, often supported by a relevant degree or HR certification. Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and office software like Microsoft Office is typically required. Excellent communication, discretion, and the ability to multitask are crucial soft skills that set standout candidates apart.
