What Does a Human Resources Analyst Do?

A human resource analyst manages the human resources information systems (HRIS) for a company or organization, collecting and analyzing data for these systems. Among other things, your responsibilities are to compile information regarding salaries and job requirements in your organization’s industry, to collect relevant data concerning employees, and to determine issues that may affect employee hiring, retention, and quality of life. Human resources analysts also study company practices and policies to find ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Human Resources Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Human Resources Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in HR principles, and a relevant degree such as in human resources, business, or statistics. Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS), data analysis tools like Excel or Tableau, and certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are typically important. Attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities are valuable soft skills that set candidates apart. These competencies enable HR Analysts to interpret workforce data, support decision-making, and drive organizational effectiveness.

What are some common challenges faced by Human Resources Analysts when interpreting HR data?

Human Resources Analysts often encounter challenges with data quality and consistency, as HR information can come from multiple sources and may not always be standardized. Another common hurdle is ensuring data privacy and compliance while analyzing sensitive employee information. Additionally, translating complex data insights into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders requires strong communication skills. Collaborating closely with HR managers and IT teams is essential to overcome these challenges and deliver valuable, data-driven solutions.

Job description

Apex Geotech Solutions unites OCI LLC, GMS Piling Products, and DrillTools Inc. under one name to deliver the industry's most experienced, comprehensive solutions in Deep Foundation Drilling. We design, manufacture, and supply tooling across the foundation industry — micropile casing, threaded reinforcing bar, small- and large-diameter drilling tools and accessories — backed by U.S.-based manufacturing, advanced fabrication and machining, and a longstanding reputation for quality, reliability, and responsive service.

Locations Wilkes-Barre, PA; Brookville, PA; Kilgore, TX; Houston, TX

Why join us

  • Industry leader with a proven track record and market-leading capabilities.
  • Stability and growth from the combined strength of three legacy companies and expanding U.S.-based manufacturing.
  • Competitive pay and benefits designed to attract and retain top talent.
  • Career growth across engineering, fabrication, operations, and field support with opportunities to advance as the company scales.
  • Comprehensive support including hands-on training, technical resources, and a collaborative team focused on long-term project success.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and people-focused HR Manager to join our team onsite in Kilgore, TX. This individual will play a critical role in building and strengthening employee engagement, supporting HR initiatives, and ensuring that our workplace culture reflects collaboration, adaptability, and growth.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, quick learner, and go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and works directly with employees at all levels. This is not a desk-only role, you will be visible and active on the floor, driving initiatives and building strong employee relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a culture ambassador, supporting initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
  • Partner with HR leadership to implement programs that improve communication, employee relations, and workforce engagement.
  • Be actively present on the shop floor to understand employee needs, resolve concerns, and build trust.
  • Conduct onboarding, training, and integration processes for new hires to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Ensure compliance, employee recordkeeping, and HR system updates.
  • Collaborate closely with HR staff across all locations to ensure consistency in policies, practices, and cultural initiatives.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to identify opportunities for employee growth, cross-training, and retention.
  • Lead or support employee events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
  • Provide feedback to HR leadership on trends, concerns, and opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of HR, employee relations, or organizational development experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • Proven ability to be adaptable, proactive, and hands-on in day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the confidence to take initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
