Black & McDonald, Kansas City is actively seeking an HSE Advisor to be responsible for support and promotion of a safe, incident free work environment. Reporting to the Regional Safety Manager, responsible to ensure compliance with Corporate and Regional Safety Policies as well as regulatory requirements at operations in Kansas.

Black & McDonald is an integrated, multi-trade contractor providing electrical, mechanical, utility and maintenance services to government, industrial, commercial and institutional markets.

Main Duties

  • Participation in development of policies and procedures
  • Conduct and/or coordinate compliance training for all employees
  • Assist in the promotion of Black & McDonald's Internal Responsibility System Promotion of safe work practices and procedures
  • Conduct any necessary incident investigations and report to required personnel and conduct jobsite audits of safe work practices and procedures
  • Responsible for compliance with FMCSA
  • Assist in management of Worker's Compensation claims

Employment Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental or related field
  • 3-5 years Safety and Health experience preferred
  • Must have working knowledge of OSHA regulations and FMCSA
  • Electrical experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, displaying superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Skilled in problem solving and innovation
  • Must have an aptitude for learning
