This is a demanding but also a rewarding position. We are a fast-growing company with lots of established connections and many projects waiting to bid and start in the coming months. We are looking for a professional who is ready to take on the challenge and step into the role of an Electrical Estimator.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Estimators’ responsibilities includeanalyzing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation to estimate costs. Research, source, negotiate and obtain the best price and quote from suppliers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer RFQs and prepare accurate, detailed bid proposals on time
  • Determine cost estimates in accordance with company procedures for construction to include cost of labor, required equipment, materials, and any other costs that may affect the project
  • Work with other team members and vendors to obtain acceptable quotes from suppliers for required materials (raw materials, tooling, etc.)
  • Document cost estimates and communicate estimate details effectively both internally and externally
  • Work with existing estimating tools, methods and databases to produce complex bid packages and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Contact customers and/or vendors to resolve questions about contracts, purchase orders, engineering drawings, or specifications
  • Actively promote process improvement and provide cost reduction guidance
  • Other tasks and duties may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
  • Accubid Experience is a huge plus
  • Must be able to understand and interpret complex drawings and specifications
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills

Responsible for ensuring crew follows all state, local, jobsite and company safety policies. Lead morning meetings. Plan, supervise and perform all phases of commercial electrical work. Communicate clearly with crew and office, order materials and approve field time for crew. Work closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to control hours and job costs.

Compensation:

$58 – $61 per hour, DOE

Assigned Tasks:
  • Perform electrical work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Supervise crews in the installation of electrical systems including installation of wiring, conduits, transformers, lighting, switches, breakers, meters, switch gear etc.
  • Recommending changes to electrical design to ensure that they meet local codes and standards
  • Read, understand, interpret construction drawings
  • Oversee and train Electrical Trainees
  • Submit materials requests to Purchasing Agent.
  • Submit safety inspections – Weekly/or at change of task
  • Complete accident report and send to Safety Dept/HR/Superintendent
  • Receive and inventory materials via Procore
  • Accurately post time in Field Time (Jonas), assigned to correct projects/tasks
