Job description

Role Purpose

We are seeking a Learning & Development Coordinator who operates as both a hands-on trainer in the field and a systems builder behind the scenes. This role is responsible for actively training coaches on-site, reinforcing UFIT standards in real environments, and working directly with our internal developer to build and refine the systems that power training, assessments, and performance tracking.

This is not a passive coordination role. This position is responsible for ensuring training is executed, measured, and continuously improved in real time across schools.

You will work directly with:

  • Coaches (hands-on training and accountability)
  • Leadership (performance and standards)
  • Our internal developer (building training + tracking systems)

Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Hands-On Coach Training (Primary Function)
    • Train new and existing coaches on-site at schools (K–8 environments)
    • Lead live coaching sessions focused on:
      • Student engagement
      • Transitions (signal → direction → countdown)
      • SEL language and behavior management
      • Structured gameplay and lesson execution
    • Conduct real-time corrections, modeling, and feedback
    • Run onboarding shadow shifts and certify coaches for deployment
    • Ensure coaches are executing UFIT standards consistently across all sites
    • Lead monthly trainings, workshops, and in-service sessions
    • Build ongoing development plans for coaches and leadership staff
    2. Performance Evaluation & Accountability
    • Observe coaches and complete structured evaluations
    • Identify performance gaps and implement targeted retraining plans
    • Track coach performance using measurable standards (engagement, transitions, structure, SEL use)
    • Partner with leadership to address under performance quickly and effectively
    • Work directly with the internal developer to:
      • Design and improve UFIT’s training and tracking software
      • Define workflows for:
        • EOD reporting
        • Coach assessments
        • Incident tracking
        • Performance scoring systems
    • Translate real coaching operations into clear product requirements
    • Test and validate system functionality in real-world environments
    • Ensure the platform supports scalability to 100+ schools

         3. Training System Development and On-boarding

                  Build and refine:

    • Training SOPs
    • Coaching manuals
    • Certification pathways
    • Role-based training systems (Assistant Coach → Head Coach progression)
    • Convert field observations into repeatable training systems
    • Continuously improve onboarding and training efficiency
    • Manage onboarding and training schedules across multiple sites
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation
    • Ensure all staff meet UFIT and school district compliance standards

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in training coordination, HR, L&D, operations, or program management
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms, Calendar)
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines, sites, and staff groups
  • Experience in education, youth programs, healthcare, or service-based organizations strongly preferred
  • Must pass Megan’s Law check, drug test, and background check.
  • Current TB clearance.
  • Live Scan background check (at candidate’s expense).

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience building or managing onboarding systems and SOPs
  • Experience tracking compliance, certifications, or staff credentials
  • Experience working with coaches, teachers, or field staff
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training portals
  • Background in K-12, youth development, sports, or education services

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • New hires are onboarded faster, cleaner, and more consistently
  • Training completion and compliance tracking is organized and reliable
  • Coaches and site staff receive clear, structured development pathways
  • UFIT training materials are up-to-date, accessible, and standardized
  • Leadership has visibility into training progress and gaps
