At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, developing our people is key to delivering exceptional care. We're seeking a dynamic People Development Specialist to design and deliver impactful learning programs, strengthen leadership capability, and support career growth across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development priorities
- Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and leadership development initiatives
- Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual learning sessions
- Manage and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, tracking, and reporting
- Partner with HR and business leaders to align learning initiatives with organizational goals
- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and data insights
- Support onboarding and ongoing employee development programs
- Assist in building career pathing frameworks and internal mobility initiatives
- Develop training materials, job aids, and facilitator guides
- Stay current on learning trends and best practices in instructional design
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in learning and development, training, or organizational development
- Experience designing and facilitating training for diverse audiences
- Hands-on experience managing an LMS
- Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable learning strategies
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner across teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field
- Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days
Preferred
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP
- CPTD or similar learning and development certification
