Company Description
The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Inspector Supervisor who will manage a team of housing inspectors responsible for conducting inspections of rental properties for Housing Choice Voucher participants. The primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure that inspections are conducted in accordance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and other applicable regulations, and to provide guidance and training to inspection staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of housing inspectors responsible for conducting inspections of rental properties for Housing Choice Voucher participants
  • Ensure that inspections are conducted in accordance with HQS and other applicable regulations
  • Provide guidance and training to inspection staff on HQS and other regulations, inspection procedures, and effective communication with program participants and property owners
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of inspections, ensuring that all inspections are conducted in a timely and efficient manner
  • Oversee the quality of inspection reports, ensuring that reports are accurate, complete, and timely
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inspection results
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all inspections and related activities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve inspection processes and quality

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in housing inspection or a related field, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • In-depth knowledge of HQS and other applicable regulations related to rental housing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify deficiencies and violations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with program participants, property owners, and inspection staff
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with inspection software preferred
