Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to help maintain and support ECKAN-owned properties. In this role, you'll coordinate inspections and maintenance, work closely with tenants and contractors, and help ensure our properties remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, staying organized, and working both in the field and in the office.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate routine inspections and maintenance for ECKAN-owned properties and rental units
  • Schedule and oversee contractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, etc.)
  • Respond to tenant maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Assist with tenant move-ins and move-outs, including communication and documentation
  • Ensure properties meet HUD HQS/NSPIRE and other applicable standards
  • Track work orders, invoices, and property records
  • Maintain keys, lockboxes, and property access systems
  • Communicate regularly with tenants, contractors, and internal staff

Requirements

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Professional interpersonal skills when working with tenants, contractors, and staff
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email, data entry)
  • Basic familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel within the service area and attend occasional overnight training sessions
  • Availability for on-call emergency maintenance as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks (stairs, ladders)
  • Willingness to complete required certifications and training within the first year
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and organizational policies
  • Other duties assigned by the Housing Director

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in property management, housing programs, or social services
  • Working knowledge of landlord-tenant laws and HUD HQS/NSPIRE standards
