Description
Position Purpose:
The forklift operator provides support for HPP by moving product from Warehouse and HPP production areas. Load and unload trucks that are docked.
Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities:
• Use a forklift to load and unload trucks when they are docked
• Use a forklift and/or pallet jack to move product from the warehouse to the HPP production floor and vice versa
• Retrieve product from warehouse by following processes and procedures set by HPP Supervisor and Warehouse Manager
• Follow instructions on where to place product on production floor
• Will be required to retrieve and put away product in designated locations by using handheld scanners and location codes
• Follow all safety processes and procedures
• Will need to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines
• The position is not always 100% working as a Material Handler. This position is required to perform all task assigned by HPP Manger/Supervisor/Lead. These tasks will include helping out the Production area by loading or unloading tubes from vessels, packing/unpacking products, pricing, wrapping, taping, making boxes, sanitation, and any and all other assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Must be able to operate forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to read location signs and scanner screens
• Must have flexibility with work schedule and job duties when the location environment may change rapidly.
• Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, and write)
• Must have legible and readable handwriting
• Prioritize assigned tasks accurately and timely
• Prefer Bi-Lingual ability
Working Conditions
• This job operates in wet and cold environment located within a manufacturing facility. The average temperature is 32 degrees.
• This position requires the ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours shifts and perform repetitive bending, twisting and lifting. It requires the ability to lift 45 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 75 lbs. rarely.
Hourly Employees: Universal Pure facilities may process, pack, and store products containing allergenic food ingredients as referenced by FDA, team members who may come in direct contact, must be able to work with these ingredients.
