Hybrid School Psychologist (LSSP) - Houston, TX | $60/hr Local | Travel Packages Available | Start Date 9/21/2026

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Hybrid School Psychologist (LSSP) for an exciting opportunity with Houston ISD. This 34-week assignment offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting students' academic, behavioral, emotional, and developmental success across multiple campuses.

  • Amergisum of 2 Campuses Per Day
  • Central Houston Territory Assignments
  • Testing & Evaluations Focus (80-90% of Role)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct special education evaluations
  • Complete Autism, Emotional Disability, and Other Health Impairment assessments
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and eligibility determinations
  • Develop behavioral recommendations, FBAs, and BIPs
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Prepare MDR packets for SPED and 504 students
  • Provide counseling services as needed (10-20% of workload)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Texas School Psychologist/LSSP licensure
  • Master's Degree in Psychology preferred
  • Experience with pediatric and adolescent populations preferred
  • Knowledge of TEA Autism criteria and special education evaluation processes
  • Ability to meet all state, federal, and local requirements

The School Psychologist works to support students through a variety of mental health and developmental issues and aids in qualifying students for additional support services.  The School Psychologist is responsible for providing on-site psychological services to students under the jurisdiction of the state and district. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must maintain current State licensures and/or certifications in state of assignment 
  • Experience in pediatric and adolescent population is preferred 
  • Masterโ€™s degree in psychology preferred 
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
