After School Child Caregiver

We are currently hiring After School Child Caregivers for multiple Houston ISD and Spring Branch ISD campuses. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

As an After School Child Caregiver, you’ll play a vital role in creating a nurturing, educational, and engaging environment for children. If you're passionate about helping children learn, grow, and thrive – this is the job for you!

Work Schedule

This position is onsite at schools and would need to be able to work Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. The work schedule will follow the academic calendar (including all scheduled school holidays and summer break).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and support age appropriate After 3 curriculum activities that foster teamwork, creativity, and positive peer interactions.
  • Always maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to all safety and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor and support positive student behavior and assist with conflict resolution and social skills development.
  • Provide academic support, including homework help and study assistance.
  • Keep accurate attendance, incident reports, and required documentation as directed by the site director.
  • Help ensure site cleanliness, organization, and physical safety are maintained daily.
  • Support other campuses or classrooms when additional coverage is needed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and DFPS fingerprinting.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds or more and engage physically with students (stooping, kneeling, bending, moving, etc.).
  • Experience working with children in a childcare, education, or recreation setting preferred.
  • Basic understanding of child behavior and classroom management.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
