Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position. Under supervision the Community Assistant is responsible for performing daily secretarial, clerical, and office tasks with an assigned community. Supports the Community Manager in operating the community to meet financial obligations while reflecting HDC mission, meeting daily with residents, employees, and neighbors.

โ€ข Operate administrative activities involved with the community.

โ€ข Maintain a working relationship with residents and employees.

โ€ข Assist Community Managers by maintaining updated and accurate files on all resident related items and dispatch resident work orders.

โ€ข Assist Community Managers in maintaining positive resident relations programs assuring good public relations and tenant satisfaction programs.

โ€ข Assist Community Managers in planning resident events.

โ€ข Publish standard resident notification memos for review and distribution.

โ€ข Manage security access card programming.

โ€ข Maintain filing system for all routine reports and other deadlines required during a given week, month, and quarter.

โ€ข Perform all other duties as directed by the Community Manager and assist the overall team effort, as needed.


Skills/Education/Experience:

โ€ข Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent required, along with a valid driverโ€™s license.

โ€ข Position prefers a one year minimum in Office Assistant or related work experience.

โ€ข Prefers experience with an affordable housing background.

โ€ข Successful completion of drug screening and criminal background check.


Normal work environment:

โ€ขWork environment will be indoors and outdoors and will require 25% annual travel.

โ€ขRequires moderate physical demands, lifting up to 25 pounds, continuous standing, bending, walking, and lifting.
