Job description

Description:

The Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective freight operations, supporting the import and logistics manager. This position involves handling shipping and receiving tasks, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.


This individual will communicate accurate and updated inbound freight rates to stakeholders, reconcile inbound freight quotes with carrier invoices to identify and resolve discrepancies, proactively monitor carrier and vendor compliance with company policies and procedures, and manage vendor purchase orders, inventory moves, and issue resolution.


Job Responsibilities:

Review import documentation to verify compliance with customs regulations.

Identify 3rd party invoicing errors and escalate cost-savings opportunities or disputes to management.

Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, Manufacturing, and 3rd Party Logistics Services.

Work with warehouse operations to ensure shipments are booked and received on time.

Track and monitor all inbound purchase orders and provide leadership with projected volume to aid in cash flow and labor planning across warehouses.

Work as a liaison between our warehouses and our vendors for any non-compliance violations, inventory discrepancies, and other operational tasks.

Responsible for managing freight revenue targets by period.

Responsible for creating and maintaining standard operating procedures.

Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.

Follow legal policies as directed.


Requirements:

Previous experience in international and domestic freight and operations.

Working knowledge of Inbound Supply Chain concepts.

Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written skills.

Strong ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced organization.

Works independently under general supervision.

Excellent computing skills with Microsoft Office applications.

Bachelors degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

One (1) – three (3) years of relevant job experience (working with both domestic and international freight)
