Job description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of the electrical systems used in automatic pool cover products. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams, this role ensures electrical components and control systems meet safety, quality, reliability, and performance standards while supporting efficient manufacturing processes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, wiring diagrams, control panels, and electronic components for automatic pool cover products.

  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), wiring instructions, and engineering documentation.

  • Program, troubleshoot, and improve motor controls, sensors, limit switches, control boards, and related electrical components.

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical and mechanical systems into new and existing products.

  • Evaluate new technologies, components, and suppliers to improve product performance, reliability, and cost.

  • Support new product development from concept through production launch.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues identified during manufacturing, testing, installation, or field service.

  • Partner with Manufacturing to improve assembly processes, reduce defects, and increase production efficiency.

  • Develop and execute validation and reliability testing for electrical systems and components.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product failures and quality concerns.

  • Ensure products comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate revision control.

  • Provide technical support and training to Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Field Service teams.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, cost reduction, and process optimization.

  • Assist with prototype builds, product testing, and product certifications as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.

  • 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience designing low-voltage electrical systems, motor controls, and electromechanical products.

  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software for schematic design.

  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.

  • Experience with PLCs, embedded controls, microcontrollers, or motor drive systems is preferred.

  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and lean manufacturing principles.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and best engineering practices.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and product specifications.
