Allied Reliability is seeking an EHS Specialist III to join a Performance Materials team in Malcom, IA.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and localregulations related to environmental protection, hazardous waste management, and spill prevention, as well as adhering to corporate internal standards.
Enhancing our site programs to maintain licensure to operate while fostering a culture of safety and compliance among all personnel.
Lead site security initiatives, identifying and mitigating security risks to uphold and optimize our security standards.
Collaborate closely with the site manager andcontribute to the overall success of the site.
Work alongside EHS experts across the organization and reporting directly to the EHS Director for Performance Materials North America.
The EHS Specialist III will leverage effective communication skills to develop strong working relationships with employees, the EHS community, and regulatory agencies/third parties, serving as a positive change agent within the organization.
Responsibilities include:- Utiliize knowledge of Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental disciplines to develop and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures for the site.
- Draw upon experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental management, and Emergency Response program management in a manufacturing environment to lead and participate in risk assessments, accurately addressing identified deficiencies.
- Providing guidance - both tactically and strategically- to site leadership on critical EHS issues,ensuring adherence to corporate EHS policies and procedures.
- Createtraining content and, where appropriate, delivertraining or coaching, facilitatethe sharing of programs, procedures, tools, and best practices across the organization.
- Prioritize opportunities and issues to drive the continuous improvement of EHS processesand systems.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to identify and monitor key performance indicatorswithin areas of responsibility, makenecessary adjustments to improve EHS performance.
- Lead and participate in project reviews, process hazard analyses, and change management processes, ensuring all internal and external reporting requirements are metthrough your solid analytical and computer skills.
- Collaborate with hourly employees to reinforce a culture of behavior-based safety and support emergency response activities.
- Work with and traveling to other sites to evaluate audit readiness and share best practices
- Lead and/or participate in EHS work teams and/or task forces
RequirementsA Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience in an
industrial/manufacturing environment
Ability to work independently under broad goals and objectives with minimal guidance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Environmental Reporting and Safety Management Systems strongly preferred
