Job Title: Pit / Mining Operator (MSHA-Regulated Site) Part 48

Location: Dewey, AZ

Status: Full-Time, Hourly
Earth Resources Corporation (ERC) is seeking a Mining Machine Operator / Equipment Operator who leads with a mindset of Leadership, Safety, Quality, and Production. As a fast-paced heavy civil and mining contractor, we rely on dedicated professionals who take pride in turning civil development plans into reality.
This is more than an equipment operating role - you will be a key contributor to our custom crushing and aggregate operations, directly impacting material production, project schedules, equipment longevity, and most importantly, the safety of our crews. In our MSHA-regulated environment, success requires discipline, situational awareness, and accountability every day.
Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe, efficient, and production-driven manner to support crushing and aggregate operations.
  • Maintain consistent plant feed and manage stockpiles to meet project material demands.
  • Perform thorough pre-operational inspections and document equipment conditions in accordance with MSHA and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and plant issues in the field and recognize mechanical, hydraulic, or operational deficiencies early.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude by identifying abnormal sounds, vibrations, leaks, temperature changes, and performance issues.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and supervisors to communicate problems, minimize downtime, and support timely repairs.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance such as fueling, lubricating, cleaning, adjusting, and minor component replacements as assigned.
  • Operate with situational awareness around ground personnel, other mobile equipment, and plant operations.
  • Follow all MSHA, safety, environmental, and company procedures at all times.
  • Maintain housekeeping of equipment, work areas, and stockpile zones.
  • Support production needs across multiple sites and adapt to changing operational priorities.
  • Work as a team to meet daily production targets while protecting people, equipment, and material quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate loaders, excavators, dozers, haul trucks, water trucks, crushers, and screen plants.
  • Feed crushing plants to maintain consistent production flow and minimize downtime.
  • Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections in accordance with MSHA standards.
  • Conduct routine servicing including fueling, greasing, and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain safe berms, haul roads, traffic flow, and stockpile organization.
  • Identify and report hazardous ground conditions or mechanical concerns immediately.
  • Assist with plant setup, tear-down, and relocation when required.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
Qualifications & Experience
  • Preferred to possess current MSHA Part 48 5000.23
  • 2+ years of heavy equipment operation in mining, quarry, or aggregate production preferred
  • Experience feeding crushers and working around crushing/screening plants strongly preferred
  • Understanding of aggregate production processes and material flow
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
