Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic – Lead Fleet Maintenance and Asset Reliability for Mid-Missouri Operations

Job Overview
  • Company: MoSEAL Asphalt Services.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $30 - $40+ per hour, based on experience.

  • Location: Fulton, MO (Mid-Missouri).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, Overtime, Occasional nights and weekends.

  • Project Scope: Residential, Commercial, and Municipal Paving.

  • Mandatory Licensees & Certifications: CDL Class A.

The Opportunity

You will be the backbone of our field operations, ensuring that our specialized paving and production equipment remains in peak condition. This role offers the variety of working on everything from heavy asphalt pavers to crushing equipment in a modern, well-equipped shop. Your expertise will directly reduce downtime and support the success of a family-owned business that values professional, organized, and honest mechanics.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Execute complex diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse fleet including pickup trucks, dump trucks, and trailers.

  • Overhaul and service heavy construction machinery such as skid loaders, wheel loaders, rollers, and asphalt pavers.

  • Maintain high-performance standards for asphalt plant equipment and crushing/screening machinery to ensure continuous production.

  • Implement rigorous preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize field failures.

  • Troubleshoot intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to resolve equipment issues rapidly.

  • Systematize accurate maintenance and service records to track the health and history of every asset in the fleet.

  • Organize a clean and safe shop environment that reflects the professional standards of MoSEAL.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a diesel, industrial, or heavy equipment mechanic.

  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload efficiently.

  • Professional, honest, and hardworking approach with a focus on meticulous record-keeping.

  • Current and valid CDL Class A license.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Diesel Technology or a related mechanical field.

  • Extensive experience specifically with aggregate and asphalt construction equipment.

  • Proven track record of maintaining clean and organized industrial shop environments.

  • Local residency in the Mid-Missouri area.
