Job description

Position Overview
Diamond's Management Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Conduit Specialist to support underground utility construction operations. This role is responsible for the installation, alignment, and protection of conduit systems for telecommunications, electrical, and related infrastructure.
The Conduit Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring conduit installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduit Installation & Layout
  • Install underground conduit systems (PVC, HDPE, steel) for telecom and electrical applications
  • Measure, cut, and assemble conduit to meet project specifications
  • Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and depth of conduit runs
  • Install sweeps, bends, couplings, and vault connections
  • Assist with duct bank installations, including spacers and encasement preparation
Trenching & Site Work
  • Support trenching, excavation, and backfilling operations
  • Verify trench depth, grade, and bedding material prior to conduit placement
  • Ensure proper compaction and restoration following installation
  • Hand-dig around existing utilities to prevent damage
Quality Control & Compliance
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, profiles, and utility plans
  • Verify conduit placement meets project specifications and tolerances
  • Assist with mandrel testing, pull tape installation, and inspection readiness
  • Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready work areas
Safety & Regulations (Non-Negotiable)
  • Follow all OSHA, VDOT, and local utility safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with 811/Dig Safe requirements prior to excavation
  • Utilize proper PPE and trench safety practices
  • Identify and report hazards immediately
  • Participate in daily tailgate safety meetings
Coordination & Team Support
  • Work closely with foremen, operators, and crew members to maintain production flow
  • Coordinate with inspectors and project managers as needed
  • Maintain clear communication regarding progress, challenges, and material needs
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in conduit installation or underground utilities
  • Experience with PVC, HDPE, and/or duct bank systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of trenching, grading, and installation tolerances
  • Valid Driver's License
