Job description

STV is seeking a dynamic and experienced Rail Project Manager with a strong focus on project management to join our team based in our New Jersey offices.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing Rail projects and driving business growth within the Rail sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, capable of identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee the successful delivery of Rail projects, working closely with project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. Plans the complete project execution and develops the project management plan. Schedules and monitors manpower requirements against the project budget/spending performance, including managing activities related to project scope, schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, communications, coordination, discipline requirements, resources, procurement, and risk elements required to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility. Select, supervise, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure a successful project.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered with minimal disruption.
  • Subject Matter Expert: On technical and project insights, trends related Rail matters.
  • Resource allocation: Scheduling and monitoring staffing requirements against project performance and budget.
  • Financial Management: Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve profitability.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential Rail clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to enhance the company's visibility and expand its network of contacts within the Rail industry.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering teams, business development, and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies for business growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes within the Rail sector, and incorporate them into the company's business development strategies.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, or structural engineering, , or a related field.
  • NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 15+ years of experience in Rail project management and business development, with a proven track record of driving business growth and delivering successful Rail projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Rail engineering principles, standards, and practices.
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new Rail business opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with Rail clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Experience in proposal development, bid management, and contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, project assignments, and industry events.
  • PMP Certification highly encouraged.

$172,102.32 - $196,688.36
