Hotel Engineer

SUMMARY: The Engineer is a professional who is enjoys problem-solving and is detailed oriented. This role ensures the property's flawless functionalizing, making certain all systems - from climate controls to elevators, from plumbing to lighting - operates seamlessly while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of our the hotel. By delivering impeccable service, the Engineer will uphold service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property.

Compensation Range: $24.00-$26.00

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests with minimal disruption
  • Maintain all building systems to luxury hotel standards (BMS, fire systems, elevators)
  • Conduct water chemical testing and treatment for pools/spa facilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair high-end guest room amenities (smart systems, lighting controls)
  • Execute delicate repairs on premium surfaces (marble, fine wood, specialty finishes)
  • Maintain proper operation of all door hardware, locks, and security systems
  • Ensure silent operation of all mechanical equipment in guest areas
  • Preserve architectural details during all maintenance activities
  • Respond to engineering service requests with discretion and urgency
  • Work overnight shifts to complete disruptive maintenance invisibly
  • Collaborate with housekeeping on room preventative maintenance programs
  • Maintain inventory of luxury replacement parts and finishes
  • Ensure all work meets luxury brand standards and safety regulations
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities
  • Participate in emergency preparedness programs
  • Adhere to all OSHA and local safety requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • (2/3) years of hotel/maintenance engineering, with luxury hotel/resort strongly preferred
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
  • Should have good interpersonal skills
  • Must speak and communicate in English
  • Must have a desire for learning and personal growth
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods of time
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification preferred
  • Certifications in electrical/HVAC systems a plus
  • Must meet legal age requirements for the position
  • Must have high school diploma or equal to a GED
