Job description

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Assistant Controller
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting and financial reporting functions for a condo-hotel operation and its related entities. This role supports accurate financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and operational accounting across multiple entities. The position will also manage intercompany transactions, ensure proper allocations between entities, and support ownership and management reporting in a multi-entity environment. The Senior Accountant helps maintain strong internal controls and ensures accounting records are complete, accurate, and in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial activity across all assigned entities.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions, due to/from accounts, and entity allocations.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts on a timely basis.
• Assist with weekly cash flow tracking for multiple entities.
• Review revenue, expenses, and other financial activity for accuracy and proper classification.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for hotel and related entities.
• Maintain and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate with operational departments to ensure proper coding, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Monitor accounting for condo-hotel related activity, including owner distributions, shared expenses, and entity-specific transactions, as applicable.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, condo-hotel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience managing multiple entities' books and intercompany transactions required.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems such as M3, QuickBooks Desktop is a plus.
• Strong account reconciliation and month-end close experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and entities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
