Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our DO&CO Family in Romulus.

With the three business segments of Airline Catering, International Event Catering, and Restaurants, Lounges & Hotels, we offer gourmet entertainment all over the world. We operate in 32 locations, 12 countries and 3 Continents, maintaining the highest standard of quality in both our products and services. We refine the classics, develop the unknown and grow constantly – sometimes beyond our own expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems and equipment, including:

    • HVAC, refrigeration, and A/C components

    • Plumbing fixtures and electrical circuits

    • Cooking, food preparation, and sanitation equipment, including commercial dishwashing machines

  • Maintain the overall condition of the facility, including:

    • Cooking and production machinery

    • Electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting work as needed

  • Perform last-minute repairs and general construction work on-site as required

  • Keep tools, equipment, and the maintenance shop clean, organized, and in good working condition at all times

  • Ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed cost-effectively and with minimal disruption to production and staff

  • Carry out other maintenance-related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general maintenance

  • High school diploma preferred

  • Ability to work independently or under supervision

  • Strong sense of punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and basic communication

  • Comfortable using a laptop and smartphone for email and phone communication

  • Flexible with work hours and scheduling, including availability for on-call shifts

  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a heavy workload

  • Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing tasks that require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling and sometimes cold conditions.
