About the Opportunity


A rapidly growing international entertainment and hospitality company is seeking a Design & Construction Project Manager to support the expansion of its U.S. footprint. This individual will play a critical role in bringing new locations from concept to completion by overseeing design coordination, permitting, construction progress, and project execution. The ideal candidate combines architectural knowledge with strong project management capabilities and is comfortable working across multiple stakeholders including consultants, landlords, local municipalities, and general contractors. Position Summary


The Design & Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, permitting, design coordination, and construction management of new venue developments and existing location improvements. Acting as an owner's representative, this role will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with brand standards.


The successful candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities


● Coordinate architectural and engineering consultants throughout the design process.

● Review plans, drawings, specifications, and construction documents for accuracy and alignment with operational requirements.

● Assist in developing design standards and maintaining consistency across locations.

● Support space planning, layout review, and operational functionality discussions.


Permitting & Entitlements

● Manage permitting processes and coordinate submissions with local jurisdictions.

● Track permit progress, respond to agency comments, and facilitate approvals.

● Work closely with consultants and contractors to resolve permitting challenges and maintain project schedules.

● Monitor compliance with local building codes and regulations.


Construction Project Management

● Oversee construction progress from pre-construction through project completion.

● Coordinate with local general contractors, vendors, and consultants throughout each phase of development.

● Conduct regular site visits and project reviews.

● Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.

● Identify and proactively address construction risks, delays, and potential cost impacts.

● Review change orders, RFIs, and construction updates.


Project Coordination

● Maintain project schedules and status reports for leadership.

● Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners.

● Track key project milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

● Support grand opening readiness and project closeout activities. Specialty Considerations

● Coordinate acoustic and soundproofing requirements unique to private-room entertainment environments.

● Support integration of specialty equipment, technology, and operational infrastructure into project designs.


Must-Have Experience

Architectural/design experience or strong working knowledge of design and construction processes.

● Project management experience involving tenant improvements, interior construction, store development, hospitality development, or commercial development projects.

● Basic understanding of permitting, plan check, and city agency approval processes.

● Experience coordinating architects, MEP consultants, general contractors, landlords, and municipal agencies.

● Experience managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, RFIs, and overall project timelines.

● Ability to visit construction sites, identify issues, and drive coordination among project stakeholders.

● Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Experience

● Hospitality, entertainment, restaurant, or retail development experience.

● Experience managing karaoke, restaurant, retail, or other customer-facing commercial projects.

● Acoustic, AV integration, or soundproofing experience.

● California permitting and construction experience.

● Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Procore, Smartsheet, or similar project management and design platforms.

● Multi-unit expansion or rollout experience.

● Experience working on the owner/operator side of development projects.


Education

● Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Interior Architecture, or a related field preferred.
