WARD ORDERLY - FULL TIME
BELCO PARTNER RE
MEDICAL/SURGICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
BHB ensures the highest in quality health care through service excellence, education and leadership. We seek qualified, highly motivated, and experienced professionals to work in a supportive but demanding environment.
The Ward Orderly will work under the supervision of an assigned Staff Nurse and perform related duties necessary in caring for the personal needs, comforts, and safety of the patients
Key responsibilities include:
โ€ข Supports the policies and procedures of the Bermuda Hospitals Board (B.H.B.) and maintains the standards of nursing practices
โ€ข Attends to and assist with activities of daily living i.e. feeding, bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobilizing
โ€ข Assist with the providing comfort measures and ensure patient safety
โ€ข Observe and reports patients symptoms, reactions, and progress
โ€ข Takes and records temperatures, pulse, and respirations. Records intake and output
โ€ข Administers evacuation enemas and evacuations suppositories. Gives bed pans and urinals
โ€ข Tests routine and diabetic urine and collects specimens for diagnostic test
โ€ข Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, care of the deceased and transportation of the bodies to the morgue
โ€ข Makes open, closed, and occupied beds. Performs shaves/ skins preps for surgical patients
โ€ข Performs urinary catheter care for male patients, perineal care, and application of Texas catheter
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
โ€ข High School Graduate
โ€ข Certificate of completion for the Nursing Assistant Course at Bermuda College or equivalent programme is required
โ€ข Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council
โ€ข Must be capable of safely lifting with approved device.
โ€ข Current CPR certification required
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Shift: Evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as needed
Salary: BI40 - $1,163.21 per week - $33.23 per hour
