Job description

Overview
VectorUSA is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our San Diego office. This role leads large-scale technology infrastructure projects across multiple verticals, including K-12 (SDUSD), commercial, and public sector clients.
Projects may include both E-rate and non-E-rate initiatives. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for full lifecycle delivery-from pre-construction planning and proposal development through execution, financial management, and project closeout-ensuring alignment across Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Field Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Project Delivery Management
  • Lead execution of multiple concurrent infrastructure projects from planning through closeout
  • Oversee installation of network systems, wireless infrastructure, and structured cabling
  • Ensure adherence to schedules, scope, quality standards, and client expectations

Pre-Construction & Proposal Support
  • Support RFP responses and proposal development
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to align solutions with client requirements
  • Validate scope, design, and feasibility

Engineering Coordination & Technical Oversight
  • Coordinate engineering efforts to align designs with requirements and field conditions
  • Provide input on architecture, equipment selection, and deployment strategies
  • Bridge communication between engineering and field execution teams

Financial, Procurement & Labor Management
  • Develop and manage project cost structures and labor plans
  • Oversee procurement and validate pricing
  • Monitor budgets and mitigate financial risks through proactive cost control

Contract & Compliance Management
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, including E-rate and public sector standards
  • Maintain documentation for audit readiness
  • Support contract modifications as needed

Invoicing, Billing & Subcontractor Compliance
  • Manage client invoicing, schedule of values (SOV), and percent-complete tracking
  • Review subcontractor invoices
  • Ensure compliance with certified payroll and contractual requirements

Stakeholder & Subcontractor Management
  • Act as liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Lead meetings and track project progress
  • Ensure quality and performance standards are met

Client Leadership & Engagement
  • Represent VectorUSA with clients, general contractors, and inspectors
  • Provide technical guidance and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure alignment across all project stakeholders

Operational Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and drive process improvements
  • Support standardization of documentation and execution practices

Qualifications
Experience
  • 8-10 years of project management experience in IT infrastructure or construction environments
  • Proven success managing large-scale, multi-site deployments
  • Strong background in:
    • Network infrastructure
    • Wireless systems
    • Structured cabling
  • Public sector and E-rate experience preferred

Certifications
  • PMP Certification (Required)
  • Industry certifications (Cisco, Aruba, or similar) - Preferred

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Preferred)

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management
  • Financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost control)
  • Expertise in project lifecycle management
  • Excellent communication and ability to translate technical concepts
  • Proficiency with:
    • MS Project
    • Smartsheet
    • Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel locally for site visits and client meetings
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
