Job description

At Grace Estate Law, we believe that legacy planning is about more than just drafting documentsโ€”itโ€™s about providing resilience in the face of lifeโ€™s most difficult transitions. Our core mission is to empower our clients to create meaningful legacies with confidence and Grace.

When a loved one passes away or becomes disabled, the path forward is often uncertain. We act as trusted advisors who listen to clients' stories, hold space for their challenges, and guide them toward a future that feels secure. We are looking for a dedicated Paralegal who shares our heart for service and our commitment to integrity in the practice of probate and guardianship law.

Why Youโ€™ll Love Being Part of Our Team

  • Meaningful Impact: You aren't just managing files; you are helping families protect what matters most and helping families navigate complex legal systems with clarity and peace of mind. Because of your experience, you are able to competently help families navigate the court processes for probate and guardianship without the need for extensive oversight and supervision.
  • A Culture of Integrity: We live by our values: Integrity, Accountability, Transparency, Empathy, and Grace. You are applying to this job because you have the legal experience clients need and are emotionally equipped to provide the empathetic legal support they seek.
  • Growth & Support: We are a rapidly expanding firm that values professional development. You will work in a tech-savvy, collaborative environment where your contributions are truly seen and valued. You will receive mentoring and have the opportunity to ask the "why" questions in a judgment-free zone.
  • Work-Life Harmony: We offer competitive compensation, health/disability insurance, 401(k) matching, and a hybrid schedule (work from home Fridays!) to support your personal well-being.
Compensation:

$58,000 to $75,000

Responsibilities:

Your Role in the Firm's Mission

As a Paralegal, you are a vital partner in delivering legal services with Grace that our clients can rely on. You will:

  • Foster Confidence: Serve as a compassionate point of contact for clients, ensuring they feel heard, informed, and supported at every stage of their case. You are responsible for gathering the documents the court requires from our clients and assembling and preparing them for presenting to the probate courts in the correct format.
  • Build Legacies: Draft high-quality documents, including the preparation of and submission to the court of probate and guardianship pleadings, affidavits, and orders using the firmโ€™s customized forms.
  • Bring Order to Uncertainty: Manage attorney court dockets, schedule hearings, coordinate with probate court staff, and organize client cloud-based file systems to ensure the legal process is seamless and reassuring for the families we serve.
  • Lead with Grace: Handle sensitive situations with the empathy and professionalism our firm is known for. Our clients include grieving families who need help with understanding the probate process, and families of special needs individuals seeking empathetic representation in guardianship.

Qualifications:

Who You Are

  • A Career-Minded Professional: You see this as a calling, not just a "job." You have 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in Texas probate, guardianship, and estate planning law. You have completed a paralegal certificate and an associate's degree in paralegal studies or a 4-year college degree.
  • Technically Proficient & Organized: You thrive within well-established processes and are proactive about keeping cases moving forward without extensive oversight.
  • Empathetic Communicator: You are a "transparent communicator" who can bridge the gap between complex law and the human experience our clients face.
  • Detail-Obsessed: You understand that accuracy in legal filings with the probate court is a final act of care and respect for our clients' families.
