Job description

Job Summary:
The University of Florida is seeking a CRM Salesforce Developer to design, build, and maintain custom solutions on their Salesforce CRM system. This role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the CRM platform aligns with strategic objectives and supports business processes.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Components, and Flow.
• Configure standard and custom objects, fields, validation rules, and automation.
• Enhance system functionality by implementing business requirements into scalable solutions.
• Debug and resolve issues across code, configuration, and integrations.
• Optimize existing code, workflows, and automation for performance and maintainability.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve system defects and user-reported issues.
• Support releases, deployments, and environment management across sandboxes and production.
• Follow development best practices including testing, version control, and documentation.
• Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems (e.g., ERP, marketing platforms).
• Develop and consume APIs for data exchange and system connectivity.
• Support data synchronization and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Manage and support third-party connected applications, including setup, configuration, authentication (OAuth), and ongoing maintenance and version upgrades.
• Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Analyze existing workflows and recommend process improvements.
• Support change management initiatives to ensure successful CRM adoption.
• Provide training and guidance to IT teams and end-users on CRM best practices.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for CRM-related inquiries.
• Stay current with CRM trends, emerging technologies, and vendor updates.
• Recommend upgrades, enhancements, and new features to support organizational growth.
• Track CRM platform roadmap, vendor releases, and emerging capabilities.
• Evaluate and implement advanced analytics and AI-driven CRM capabilities.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
• Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
• 2+ years of hands-on Salesforce administration and development experience.
• Hands-on development experience with Apex, triggers, asynchronous processing, and Lightning (LWC or Aura), with a strong understanding of governor limits and performance optimization.
• Understanding of system integration, APIs, and middleware solutions.
• Proficiency in data modeling, database management, and ETL processes.
• Salesforce Developer Certification, or ability to get it within 6 months of taking the position.
• Experience with Gearset and GitLab for implementing and managing automated CI/CD pipelines, including version control, deployment automation, and release management.
• Background in business process optimization and change management.
• Experience with advanced analytics and AI-driven CRM features.
• Strong logical thinking and analytical skills.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills as well as effective time management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.

• Proficient in the following areas: Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, as well as internet browsers and email platforms. Familiarity with donor databases, contact management systems, tracking systems, and experience in a data-driven environment is also highly preferred.
