Position Summary

The Beebe School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of HIPPY Home-Based Educator (HBE). The HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) model is centered on recruiting, training, and developing individuals from the local community to serve as Home-Based Educators. HBEs work directly with families by providing home-based instructional support designed to strengthen school readiness and family engagement.
The Home-Based Educator serves as an essential connection between families and the HIPPY program by supporting parents as their child's first teacher while ensuring program fidelity and compliance with all district, state, and program requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and understanding of the local community
  • Build relationships and work comfortably with families in homes or designated locations
  • Exhibit leadership potential with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate basic computer proficiency and virtual communication skills
  • Meet credential requirements: Parapro Assessment and High School Diploma/GED (or approved Staff Qualifications Plan)
  • Complete required professional development including COPA and 15 hours of Early Childhood PD annually
  • Submit required documentation requested by ABC, WDMESC, and/or Beebe School District
  • Attend required trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly home visits or assigned meetings with participating families
  • Review previous instructional activities and provide support to families
  • Teach parents how to implement instructional activities and provide enrichment opportunities
  • Obtain and maintain student enrollment and program documentation
  • Participate in at least six required group meetings annually
  • Meet weekly with the Field Coordinator
  • Maintain accurate records and update required data systems including COPA
  • Assist with child evaluations and parent conferences
  • Communicate concerns and barriers to the coordinator
  • Recruit and screen program participants

Terms of Employment

  • Position Type: Classified Staff Position
  • Contract Length: 160 Days
  • Reports To: HIPPY Field Coordinator
  • Salary: Based upon district salary schedule
  • Benefits: Eligible according to district policy

This position is considered a paraprofessional-type position. Employees are expected to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community members while supporting the mission and goals of the Beebe School District.
