Job description

Position acts as a Job Coach Employment Professional for Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit Corporation that provides employment and community inclusion services for adults with disabilities. This position is responsible for providing job coaching, training, and supervision of individuals who have been placed in jobs within the community. Job Coach Employment Professionals will assist individuals in achieving their highest potential through modeling and teaching appropriate employment skills and work ethics. This position may also support individuals participating in Employment Path Solo services, focusing on individualized skill development, career exploration, and progress toward competitive integrated employment.

Qualifications:
  • High-school diploma or GED, or acceptable combination of experience and education.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred but not required (training is provided).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability and desire to model and communicate various employment skills
  • Positive work ethics, including punctuality, dependability, and task completion.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products are preferred but not required.
  • Must have proven, stable employment history.
  • Ability to organize, coach, train, and evaluate staff and participants.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license and must be insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
  • Flexibility to float between locations and adapt to varied program needs.
  • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (e.g., SetWorks) preferred.
  • Able to work with limited supervision, displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
  • Attention to detail, in order to create documents for reporting purposes.
  • Must be able to pass criminal history checks and drug screen including THC.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
Working hours/conditions:
This position does not have standard work hours. Workdays and hours will vary depending on participant placements. Variable hours and on-call availability may be required. Weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to drive, stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, reach, pull, and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Must be able to multitask and handle/de-escalate tense situations. Reasonable accommodation will be made for a person with a disability under ADA.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist individuals who are disabled to acquire and develop those skills, behaviors, attitudes, and personal characteristics required to function effectively in a work environment.
  • Arrive on time at the specific job site.
  • Dress appropriately or as required by the job site.
  • Assist the participant/client in performing the work responsibilities in such a way that fosters independence.
  • Continually assess the employment, social, communication, and independent skills required by the specific job setting.
  • Perform task analysis of each task as needed and provide guidance to participant/client.
  • Identify job site modifications as needed. Recommendations are to be discussed with your Sunrise supervisor first.
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of the job sites.
  • Report to your Sunrise supervisor regarding any needs, problems, or concerns.
  • Provide a summary of each shift worked with the participant/client to your Sunrise supervisor within 48 hours of each shift.
  • Complete and submit accurate daily progress reports in SetWorks for each shift worked with the participant/client by the end of each workday. Ensure all documentation meets required standards for employment services, including Employment Path Solo, as applicable.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, and committees.
  • Support and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and ensure we comply with applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Do not exceed responsibility/authority and exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by policies and/or procedures.
  • Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by the supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients, limiting interactions to work-related settings and supports. Report any potential conflicts of interest to a supervisor.
  • Observe scheduled work hours and workdays.
  • Actively seek ways (or take initiative, make suggestions, etc.) to improve our organization, our processes, and the services we provide.
  • Complete a minimum of 12 hours of training annually, including all required training for the Employment Professional role.
  • Other duties as assigned.
