Refrigerant Leak Specialist – Commercial Refrigeration

Position Overview

Leak Logics is seeking a Refrigerant Leak Specialist to perform advanced leak detection services on commercial refrigeration systems. This role is dedicated to identifying refrigerant leaks in supermarkets, cold storage facilities, food processing plants, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses, and other commercial and industrial facilities.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of commercial refrigeration systems, refrigerant circuits, and leak detection techniques. You will work independently at customer sites, using specialized diagnostic equipment to accurately locate leaks, document findings, and provide customers with detailed reports to support repair decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect commercial refrigeration systems for refrigerant leaks.

  • Perform leak detection on rack refrigeration systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, display cases, condensers, evaporators, compressors, piping, and associated components.

  • Utilize electronic refrigerant leak detectors, ultrasonic leak detection equipment, nitrogen pressure testing, trace gas testing, bubble solution, and thermal diagnostic tools.

  • Accurately identify and document leak locations with photos and detailed service reports.

  • Recommend repair priorities based on leak severity and system condition.

  • Ensure compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations and environmental best practices.

  • Maintain accurate electronic service records and customer documentation.

  • Safely operate company vehicles and maintain leak detection equipment.

  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to support commercial customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial refrigeration or commercial HVAC/R systems preferred.

  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire.

  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, controls, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigerant piping.

  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read refrigeration schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and in refrigerated environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Supermarket rack refrigeration systems.

  • CO2, HFC, HFO, or ammonia refrigeration systems.
