Job Description
Specialist, IT Logistics, is responsible for managing the logistics of incoming and outgoing IT assets, ensuring that all equipment is accurately tracked, received, and dispatched per company policies and project timelines. This position is instrumental in implementing and adhering to compliance standards and security measures throughout the shipping and receiving processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the IT department operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting internal operations and external customer service objectives.
Essential Functions:
  • Execute shipping process for IT equipment, ensuring timely dispatch according to organizational schedules.
  • Properly pack equipment for shipping or storage to prevent damage and maintain functionality.
  • Respond to and manage service requests related to IT logistics, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction.
  • Receive IT equipment, verifying quantities and quality, and documenting any discrepancies.
  • Effectively communicate with warehouse personnel and loading individuals to coordinate and streamline operations.
  • Efficiently remove and decommission equipment post-use, adhering to company protocols for data security and hardware management.
  • Maintain proficiency in the systems used by the warehouse provider to enhance operational efficiency and integration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Scope: Responsible for supporting end-to-end logistics operations for shipboard IT equipment within Carnival Cruise Line. Coordinates the receiving, tracking, shipping, storage, deployment, and decommissioning of IT assets while collaborating with shipboard teams, shoreside personnel, warehouse operations, and external vendors to ensure operational efficiency and continuity.
  • Problem solving: Demonstrates strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking abilities in resolving logistics-related challenges involving shipping delays, inventory discrepancies, damaged equipment, asset tracking inconsistencies, and operational bottlenecks. Utilizes systems such as AssetPanda, ServiceNow, and warehouse management platforms to identify root causes, improve inventory accuracy, and ensure timely resolution of service requests. Effectively prioritizes urgent operational demands, manages competing requests, and adapts quickly to changing business requirements while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and service reliability.
  • Impact: Directly contributes to the operational readiness, reliability, and efficiency of shipboard IT services by ensuring critical IT assets are delivered, received, processed, and tracked accurately and on schedule. Supports business continuity by minimizing downtime and maintaining dependable logistics support for shipboard operations. Maintains compliance with company security standards and asset management protocols throughout the equipment lifecycle while improving inventory accuracy, shipping reliability, and operational accountability. Supports financial stewardship by verifying that received equipment aligns with purchase orders, identifying discrepancies, reducing asset loss risk, and coordinating with vendors to ensure warranty obligations, repairs, and replacement commitments are fulfilled appropriately.
  • Leadership: Demonstrates leadership through accountability, dependability, and proactive coordination across multiple operational teams and stakeholders. Serves as a reliable point of contact for logistics-related activities by maintaining effective communication with warehouse personnel, IT teams, shipboard staff, and external vendors. Leads by example through adherence to company policies, safety procedures, compliance standards, and best practices while supporting process improvements, operational efficiency, and a collaborative team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with experience
  • Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Forklift Certification preferred
  • Ability to manage logistics software systems and technology related to inventory and shipment tracking.
  • Prior use of AssetPanda, ServiceNow, and Mediawiki or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of IT equipment and familiarity with a wide range of IT programs.
  • Skilled in operating heavy machinery for moving and wrapping pallets.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to think critically, problem solve creatively, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Analytical and detailed oriented with a strong business sense.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and achieve effective results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Primary language English, Bilingual (English and Spanish), a plus.
  • 3+ years IT operations, logistics management, and coordination of supply chain processes, preferably in IT.
  • 1+ years Cruise and/or travel industry preferred.

Travel: No or very little travel likely
Work Conditions: Work may require employee to work inside and/or outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
Physical Demands: Requires regular movement throughout company facilities.
This position is classified as "on-site." As an on-site role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Friday each week. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
