Job description

Job Summary: The Logistics Tech is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels of equipment and textile related supplies and services. This position will provide backup support to other areas of service for which the Logistics Tech is qualified, following all policies and procedures, as needed to support JPS' mission.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

  1. Performs a range of straightforward assignments related to discipline, uses prescribed guidelines and policies to analyze and resolve low level problems and receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

  2. Provides logistic customer service to all JPS departments; answers phone and electronic communications in a timely and professional manner.

  3. Records all required information into electronic logs and/or paper logs as needed for tracking purposes.

  4. Maintains electronic (and paper documents when appropriate) inventory systems to support logistics recordkeeping; in addition, supporting analytics needed for continuous improvement.

  5. Adheres to infection prevention requirements.

  6. Escalates issues as needed to more senior staff to aid in resolution.

  7. Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work, dock, and storage areas to prevent hazards.

  8. Communicates damages, discrepancies, or safety concerns to leadership promptly.

  9. Completes daily tasks and initiates needed work for next steps in the flow of supply, self-motivated.

  10. Serves as the first point of escalation for level I staff.

  11. Assists with training and mentoring lower-level staff and new team members.

  12. Navigates hallways and shared spaces cooperatively with all departments while protecting ingress and egress.

  13. Equipment Cleaning and Sanitization

    • Cleans and sanitizes medical equipment for all JPS departments.

    • Oversight of crash cart replenishment and disinfection processes.

    • Follows instructions for use. (IFU)

    • Uses available cleaning wipes, chemicals and technics to ensure safe handling, distribution and storage of re-usable medical equipment. Has detailed knowledge of these processes.

    • Physically moves equipment to point of use sites throughout campus and/or staging location for transport to off-site point of use locations.

  14. Textiles Logistics

    • Receives, documents, counts and stages clean linen carts upon delivery from service provider.

    • Picks, stacks, bundles and places clean linen on supply carts in an organized and consistent manner.

    • Monitors textile activities to ensure adequate stock is available at point of use.

    • Documents textile details into appropriate systems for data analysis.

    • Understands needed clean and soiled logistics flow.

    • Physically moves clean textiles to point of use sites throughout campus and/or staging location for transport to off-site point of use locations.
