Job description

Position Overview

The Central Logistics Technician will ensure the availability of patient supplies and equipment necessary to provide efficient care throughout Kaweah Health's nursing areas.

Responsibilities

Input data into computer for tracking and recordโ€keeping. Provide reports as required by procedure. Issue equipment, trays, and supplies according to procedure. Restock equipment and supplies, and retrieve trays when units are finished. Follow all procedures and maintain equipment in good condition. Check expiration dates, infectionโ€control policies, and pack items intact. Inventory all supply carts, reorganizing the supplies daily for efficiency. Complete all paperwork according to procedure.

Clean equipment according to manufacturer recommendation; ensure equipment functions properly. Assist Warehouse with "picking" of supplies; pick and pack supplies for efficient restocking. Communicate additional needs to Management or Shift Leader. Participate in working the issue counter and log all requests as per procedures. Order supplies from Warehouse and maintain par levels. Change papers in phone logs daily.

Perform hourly pharmacy runs (6:30 a.m. โ€“ 6:30 p.m.) and an additional run at 11:30 p.m., delivering patientโ€specific prescriptions to nursing units. Distribute IV solutions to nursing units; inventory solutions, restock as needed, and check charge labels and solution names. Document IV solutions leaving Kaweah Health premises to offโ€site campuses. Participate in inventory counts and cover in other areas as needed. Participate in "computer downtime" procedures and monthly recordโ€keeping. Maintain neat filing and record condition.

Act as designated shift leader when assigned; organize work, check completed jobs, and demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the population served. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience with medical supplies and equipment is preferred. Pay Range $20.00 โ€“ $30.00 per hour. Shift Variable โ€“ 8 hour or less shifts (United States of America)
