Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer with the drive and determination to help us support our client base. We are looking for an individual who is a problem-solver and has a proven track record of working within a team environment.

Our technicians are responsible for maintaining and improving our clients work environments through effective remote maintenance and on-site field work, all while providing exceptional customer care. Candidates must be energetic and focused with a strong motivation to learn new technologies and build processes. This position requires dedication, follow-through, effective utilization and unparalleled customer service.

This position will include identifying user problems and delivering effective support services. Responsibilities include identifying, documenting and troubleshooting user issues to resolution and maintaining customer satisfaction. Candidates must focus on relationship management and have the ability to coordinate with the required resources to respond to complex IT requirements. What does the job entail?

  • Performing server implementations and migrations
  • Complex firewall configuration
  • Performing email migrations
  • Cloud server configuration and management
  • Experience troubleshooting email related issues
  • Coordinating and implementing network software and hardware upgrades
  • Configuration, management, and troubleshooting skills for routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Troubleshooting and resolving LAN/WAN performance, connectivity, and related network problems
  • Providing remote and on-site IT support to small and medium sized businesses.
  • Administering LAN/WAN security, antivirus and spam control measures
  • Other duties may be added as defined.

What are the skill sets, qualities and experiences required for this job?

  • Thorough understanding of Windows Server technologies
  • Experience with: Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022/2025
  • Experience with Microsoft Office365 Hosted Exchange and Google Workspace/G Suite
  • Ability to setup and troubleshoot networking hardware (i.e. firewalls, VPNs, wireless, etc.)
  • Experience with Windows 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 & 2022 Server roles
  • Thorough understanding of client/server applications architecture
  • Experienced with advanced networking including VLAN, Firewalls, VPNs, etc.
  • Mac and/or Linux Experience

The following are not required but would be a plus:

  • MCITP, MCTS, CCNA, A+, Network+ or similar certification(s)
  • Experience with ConnectWise or similar ticketing system
  • Experience with Labtech/Automate or similar RMM tool
  • Ability to perform server migrations/upgrades for small offices
  • Most clients are located in the Irvine area, but range across Orange County, San Diego and LA.
