Senior Dental IT Field and Help Desk Technician


Dr Support Pros Inc. is a computer support company specializing in the dental industry. Dr Support Pros Inc. manages all aspects of its business from Toronto, Burlington, Cambridge and Ottawa, with its head office located in Pickering, ON. We take pride in being a leader in the support of medical and dental offices.


JOB OVERVIEW


Dr Support Pros Inc. is looking for a dependable Senior Field and Help Desk Technician to support our client base. They must have excellent communication skills to work with our customers and management. The employee needs to provide excellent technical customer support, service and satisfaction to our clients.


Please note that this job is in-person only. We will not be pursuing long distance hires or remote workers for this position as we need someone who can perform work at client sites and in our office.


We also require our field technicians to be able to drive to client sites using their own vehicles, and to have appropriate business vehicle insurance in place at the start of employment. A full G license is required. Mileage is reimbursed each pay period per CRA kilometre reimbursement recommendations.


Applicants are expected to:

  • Respond promptly to requests for technical assistance via phone or in person
  • Be able to drive to customer locations to provide on site support when necessary
  • Answer questions about products and services in person or via phone and email
  • Process these requests by solving them or escalating them to the appropriate person whether it is the next level of support, a sales person or an account manager
  • Diagnose and resolve technical software and hardware issues related to installation, configuration, operations or performance of the products Dr Support Pros supports
  • Research solutions using available information resources and advise user on appropriate action


REQUIREMENTS

  • Over 10 years IT support experience is required
  • Full G Drivers license required
  • Experience with dental software and troubleshooting is an asset
  • Able to solve problems without being easily overwhelmed
  • Skills and experience with Microsoft Server 2019 or newer, Windows 10 and newer, knowledge of DNS, DHCP, router configurations, and a willingness and ability to continue to develop industry specific skills
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills including typing, word processing, e-mailing, faxing, phone
  • Must enjoy a team oriented environment, but also able to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Availability for Permanent, Full Time Employment including some on call, overtime and weekend duties

College diploma in Microsoft Computer systems as an MCP or MCSE or equivalent is an asset, but not required

Transportation/Travel Information:

Must have own vehicle and be able to use it every work day. Willing to travel regularly, Willing to travel overnight. You will be reimbursed for mileage for the business use of your vehicle.
