Dahl Automotive continues to grow, and we're excited to add an IT Help Desk Technician to our team! This is an on-site position based primarily at work out of the La Crosse County locations. In this role, you'll provide first-line IT help desk support across the organization while also handling hands-on hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Your responsibilities and contributions:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for remote and phone-based help desk support by responding to user tickets, calls, emails, and inquiries; efficiently troubleshoot and resolve software, application, network connectivity, access, and basic hardware issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve IT-related problems in partnership with end users and our external IT provider to ensure timely, thorough, and effective solutions.
  • Install, configure, relocate, and maintain peripheral and network endpoint hardware, including printers, scanners, cameras, and other related equipment.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, repair, and maintain Microsoft Windows PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and standardized applications; perform imaging, software deployments, and basic hardware diagnostics/repairs.
  • Install, relocate, configure, and maintain peripheral and network endpoint hardware including: printers, scanners, IP phones, signature pads, cameras, and other end-user devices.
  • Assist with on-site hardware inventory, equipment needs identification, and maintenance of critical end-user infrastructure; perform preventive maintenance and hardware audits.
  • Collaborate with the IT Director, Senior System Administrator, and external providers on major issues, vendor escalations, defective hardware returns, and project-related hardware tasks.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, checklists, and records related to help desk processes, hardware configurations, system setups, and issue resolution.
  • Support additional IT initiatives and responsibilities as assigned, including occasional travel to other company locations to address urgent hardware needs or assist with help desk overflow support.

Your qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, common business applications, hardware troubleshooting, and remote support tools
  • Previous IT experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, approachable, and team-oriented personality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Pleasant and professional demeanor in all internal and vendor communications
