Job description

Steel Dynamics

This position is responsible for providing software support for SDI & OmniSource end users. Duties include answering help desk calls, troubleshooting issues, entering, and monitoring workorders/resolutions.


  • Answer service desk phone calls.
  • Log calls requesting technical assistance into the service desk software.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and document resolutions.
  • Assign work orders, follow up on status, and communicate status to users.
  • Handle requests & verify requested information with managers, and track progress.
  • Support Retail equipment- ATM, printers, cameras, scale interface.
  • Periodically travel to remote locations and assist other IT technicians.
  • All other duties as required.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and provide excellent Customer Service.

Required

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and work well in a team environment 
  • Understanding of business processes, transaction flows, and compliance requirements
  • Positive attitude and highly motivated
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Timely communication and compliance with policies and procedures.

Our metals recycling operations collect and process ferrous and nonferrous scrap from manufacturing and end-of-life items, such as automobiles, appliances, and machinery. This processed scrap is then sold to end-users for reuse, including our EAF steel mills, which produce new steel from the scrapped material. We sell a meaningful amount of steel to our own steel fabrication operations that in turn produce and sell structural steel joist and deck building systems to consumers.
